Interchange 360 is a national nonprofit organization that works with the petroleum and lubricants industry to build safe and effective recycling programs for products and packaging across the United States.

Many states are introducing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws. These laws require the companies that make and sell products to help fund and manage systems that collect and recycle them. Interchange 360 manages these programs so petroleum and petroleum-related products and packaging are handled safely and responsibly.

We work closely with regulators, recycling facilities, local governments, and industry partners to create programs that protect communities, strengthen recycling infrastructure, and make it easier for residents to recycle these materials properly.

Several states—including California, Colorado, Maine, Oregon, Vermont, Minnesota, Washington, and Maryland—have already passed EPR legislation. Because each state develops its own approach, Interchange 360 works with producers and public agencies to build sector-specific recycling systems for materials that require specialized collection and handling.

As recycling laws continue to expand across the country, Interchange 360 remains focused on building practical, transparent programs that help producers meet their responsibilities while improving recycling access for communities.
