Leading the Way in Colorado

Colorado

In Colorado, Interchange 360 will launch container collections in early March 2026. Interchange 360, on behalf of all the petroleum and lubricants industry, is on track to become the first operational program under the Colorado EPR law for packaging when its first collection facility opens in early 2026. This will provide demonstratable proof of the industry’s commitment to circularity and improving environmental outcomes in the state.

What we are working on now. We are currently exploring infrastructure needs, engaging with local communities to develop collection initiatives, and meeting with processors in the state. Director of Operations Shelly Fuller recently met with processors and transporters in the state to seek feedback on a draft Service Providers Manual. The group will meet again in early January so that all stakeholders are ready to go in the Spring for the launch.

What producers need to know. If you are a producer not yet registered in Colorado, you should do so as soon as possible. The state now has the authority to restrict product sales for producers not in compliance. Complete the Colorado Participation Agreement, create an account in The Vault, and complete the prompts to register. Please feel free to contact Member Services for assistance.

Dive deeper. For those interested in learning more about our program operations in Colorado, you can download the full, state-approved Program Plan that details the collection and processing plans, goals, and other details.
